Jonathan McNary
Music Producer, Mixing Engineer
Jonathan McNary is a Recording Academy member, producer, mixing engineer, music industry professional, and Partner at The Creatives Factory. With experience spanning the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and Los Angeles music industries, his career has focused on artist development, music production, industry opportunities, and building connections between artists, businesses, organizations, and civic leaders.
His career in music began while attending the University of North Texas, where he performed as a guitarist in several bands and took on contract work throughout the region. Through performing and working with artists across multiple markets, he built a strong professional network throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and Los Angeles. Those experiences provided firsthand insight into the creative, business, and professional challenges that artists face while building sustainable careers in music.
That network eventually led to a relationship with Jonathan Camacho and Christian Chavarria at The Creatives Factory. Today, he serves as a Partner, Producer, and Mixing Engineer with the company, working directly with artists to develop their sound, execute their creative vision, and navigate the professional side of the industry. While he has worked with a number of different artists in various genres, his production and engineering work includes the co-production and co-mixing of “Hurricane” by Gracen Wynn, a synth-pop single that surpassed 300,000 streams on Spotify and earned placement on a Spotify editorial playlist within a few months of its release. He has also assisted artist Haley Marie in developing relationships with major music companies, including helping secure endorsements with Avid, Lava Guitars, and Austrian Audio. Jonathan has also worked with The Creatives Factory by contributing to the planning, booking, and operations of the 2025 Downtown Dallas Arts and Music Festival.
Alongside his work at The Creatives Factory, he serves as the Music Office Manager for the Dallas Music Office, acting as a liaison between the Dallas music industry and the City of Dallas. His work focuses on developing programs, partnerships, and opportunities that support Dallas-based artists and music industry professionals while strengthening the city's overall music ecosystem.
A significant part of this work involves creating tangible performance opportunities for local artists. Over the past year, he has booked hundreds of performances through initiatives including Dallas Sounds Amplified, various arts organizations, festivals, Recording Academy events, and artist album and single release parties. Through Dallas Sounds Amplified, he has helped connect artists with performance opportunities, partnerships, professional development, workshops, showcases, and industry resources.
Since 2024, he has worked with the Recording Academy to help produce its Texas Chapter Membership Celebrations, hosted at different locations within Dallas, TX each year. His work has brought him into collaboration with organizations and institutions including Visit Dallas, KXT, KERA, Spune, Kessler Presents, Luminous Sounds Studios, Downtown Dallas Inc., the Texas Music Office, State Fair of Texas, University of North Texas, Belmont University, Mullen & Mullen Music Project, Jambaloo Music Festival, AT&T Discovery District, Klyde Warren Park, Halperin Park, Deep Ellum Community Center, Manhattan Project Brewing Company, Community Beer Company, Make Music Day, and many more.
His booking work has extended to some of Dallas' largest venues and events. He assisted in booking 38 shows for artists at the Dallas Fairmont Hotel in connection with the 2026 FIFA World Cup and booked 24 performances for artists at the 2026 State Fair of Texas. He has also booked artists for multiple Dallas-based artist organizations, helped place two artists on the lineup for the Texas Music Office AmericanaFest Showcase in Nashville, Tennessee, and worked with Belmont University to coordinate a performance featuring Gracen Wynn and Remy Reilly at House of, a student-run boutique on campus.
He holds a B.S. from the University of North Texas, where he pursued a triple major in Communication, Business, and Music, along with a Minor in Marketing. This combination of disciplines has given him a unique perspective on the creative, commercial, and civic sides of the music industry.
Today, his work continues to bridge those worlds. Whether producing and mixing records, developing artists, booking performances, coordinating major events, or crafting industry partnerships, his focus remains on creating meaningful opportunities for musicians and strengthening Dallas as a place where artists and music businesses can build lasting careers.
